ฉันมาจาก...มาจาก...ที่จริงก็คือที่นี่แหละ
I'm from... from...In fact, I'm from here.

ฉันมาจาก...ที่จริงคือที่นี่ แล้วกูอยู่ที่ไหนกันล่ะตอนนี้
I'm from...In fact, I'm from here. Then where on earth am I right now?

ก็...บางกอกนี่แหละ แต่มัน...มัน...คนละปีกัน
It's here, Bangkok. But...in a different year.

มันเป็นปีที่ไกลไปจากปีที่นี่ เป็นปีที่ไกลไปข้างหน้า ปีที่นี่ เป็นปีที่ผ่านมาแล้ว จากปีข้างหน้าของปีที่ฉันอยู่ มันห่างกันหลายปี
It's a year so far away. It's a year lying far beyond. The present year here, was the past in my present year here. Each period of time stays years apart.

แล้วเรื่องที่เจ้าจะเล่าเนี่ย มันจะยาวเป็นปีไหม
Will your tale take years to tell?

มันคงจะยากสินะ ที่จะเล่าเรื่องปีของเจ้าในปีของข้า แล้วข้าก็คงจะไม่นั่งทนฟังปีในปีของข้า สำหรับเรื่องในปีของเจ้า
It must be hard to tell about your present year in my present year. I won't sit for years in my present year for any tale in your present year.

มันยากเจ้าค่ะ มันไม่ยากที่จะเล่า แต่มันยากที่จะเชื่อเจ้าค่ะ ฉันเองก็แทบไม่อยากเชื่อว่ามันเกิดขึ้นจริง ๆ นะ
I find it hard, sir. I don't find it hard to tell, but hard to believe, sir. I hardly believe that it is really happening.

แต่เราจะเชื่อ ถ้าเจ้าเล่าความจริง ข้าเห็นโลกมามากต่อมาก ข้าเปิดใจกว้างเสมอ ไม่มีอะไรในโลกนี้ ที่เป็นไปไม่ได้
I will believe you, If you tell the truth. I'm worldly wise with an open mind. Nothing in this world cannot be done.

จริง ๆ นะเจ้าคะ อย่าโกรธนะเจ้าคะ
Really? And you won't be angry, will you?

ฉันมาจากปีพ.ศ. ๒๕๔๖ เป็นปีในอนาคตของที่นี่ เท่ากับฉันย้อนอดีตกลับมาเป็นร้อยปี ฉันเกิดที่นี่ พ่อไม่รักฉัน แม่ก็ไม่รักฉัน ท่านทั้งสองแยกกันอยู่
I'm from the year 2003 A.D. It's a future year of the present time here. It means I have traveled back 100 years into the past. I was born here. My father doesn't love me. My mother doesn't love me, either. They've split up.

ฉันก็เลยถูกส่งให้ไปเติบโตและเรียนอยู่ในฝรั่งเศษ เพื่อจะได้ไม่เป็นลูกรักของใคร แต่ฉันก็ยังรักท่านทั้งสอง ฉันจบวิชาประวัติศาสตร์มา ทำงานในกลสุลไทย ประจำนครปารีส
I was sent to study and grow up in France. So that I will be no one's child. I still love them both anyway. I graduated in history. I work for the Royal Thai Consulate in Paris.

เจ้าว่าเจ้ามาจากอนาคต ไม่นิทานไปหน่อยฤๅ
You said you're from the future. Don't you think it sounds like a tale?

ไหนว่าจะเชื่อไง พระราชไมตรี อย่างน้อยก็ยังมีสยามอยู่นะในตอนนั้น
You said you would believe her. At least Siam still exists at that time.

แล้วสยามต้องขึ้นกับใครไหม ในเวลานั้น
Is Siam colonized in your time?

ก็...เป็นเอกราชมาตลอดเจ้าค่ะ แต่ก็เสียดินแดนไปบ้าง เราเปลี่ยนชื่อ จาก “สยาม” มาเป็น “ประเทศไทย”
No. Siam has remained independent, sir. But we lost some teritories. We changed the name from “Siam” into “Thailand”.

ประเทศไทย เสียดินแดน ส่วนไหน ให้กับใคร นี่เจ้าแต่งเรื่องถึงขนาดนี้เชียวฤๅ แม่มณี รู้ไหม สาบแช่งบ้านเมืองจะถูกกุดหัว
Thailand? We lost some teritories? Which parts? To whom? How dare you tell such a made-up story? Manee, You may be beheaded with such a curse on our homeland.

แม่มณี ไหนลองเล่าซิ บ้านเมืองตอนนั้นเป็นยังไง
Manee, tell us more about our country.

บ้านเมืองเจริญมาก มีตึกสูงมากมาย ทุกอย่างเปลี่ยนไปหมด
Our contry is very modern. There are many skyscrapers. Everything has changed.

มีรถยนต์ ไฟฟ้า มีโรงหนัง
We have cars, electricity, movie theaters.

เราแต่งตัวแบบตะวันตก
We dress in a western style.

นับถือฝรั่งมากกว่าพวกเดียวกัน
We accept foreigners more than we accept one another.

เรามีทุกอย่างที่ตะวันตกมี
We have everything the Westerners have.

เราเป็นทุกอย่างที่ชาวตะวันตกเป็น
We are everything the Westerners are.

เรากินทุกอย่างที่ชาวตะวันตกกิน
We eat everything the Westerners eat.

เราชอบทุกอย่างที่ชาวตะวันตกบอกให้ชอบ
We prefer anything the Westerners tell us to.

เราอยากเป็นเขา แล้วก็ปฎิเสธที่จะเป็นเรา
We want to be them and refuse to be ourselves.

ไหนว่าเราไม่ได้เป็นเมืองขึ้นไง...แล้วเรายังมีพระเจ้าแผ่นดินไหม
But you said we are not colonized. Do we still have our king?

นี่คือสิ่งเดียวที่ทำให้เรารู้สึกว่าเรายังเป็นเราอยู่
This is the only thing that keep us as ourselves.

แล้วใครเป็นพระกลาโหมวะ ถึงปล่อยให้บ้านเมืองเป็นเยี่ยงนั้น
Who is the Minister of Defense? Why has he let our country go that way?

เราเรียก...นายกรัฐมนตรี เราเปลี่ยนแปลงการปกครอง
He is called Prime Minister. We underwent political change.

เปลี่ยนแปลงการปกครอง เปลี่ยนเป็นอะไร
Political change? What is then after change?

เราเรียกว่า “ประชาธิปไตย” เจ้าค่ะ
We call it democracy, sir.

ประชาธิปไตย เอา...เอาเข้าไป แล้วเรานับถือใคร อังกฤษหรือฝรั่งเศษ
Democracy? All right. And which country do we accept, England or France?

เรานับถือไปหมด นอกจากตัวเรา
We accept all...but ourselves.

อเมริกาเป็นชาติที่ยิ่งใหญ่ที่สุด เด็ก ๆ ของเราก็นับถือญี่ปุ่นด้วย
The United States of America is the world's greatest country. Our children accept Japan as well.

อเมริกา เมืองใหม่เนี่ยเหรอ แล้วญี่ปุ่นอีก
America? The new country? And Japan?

ชาวสยามทุกคนพูดไม่ชัด แล้วยังโกหกเก่งเหมือนเจ้าไหม
Do all Siamese speak unclear Thai and tell lies like you?

อเมริกาน่ะ....เคยส่งคนไปถึงดวงจันทร์ด้วย
The United States of America also sent their men to the moon.

ทุกอย่างเป็นความจริงนะเจ้าคะ
